YouTube Premium to Introduce Five New Features

YouTube is set to roll out five new features on its popular video-sharing platform. At least three of these features will be made available for initial testing. However, these features are being introduced exclusively for YouTube Premium users.

According to a report by TechTimes, instead of releasing these experimental features in beta, YouTube is offering Premium users the chance to experience them first. In a recent blog post, YouTube's Product Manager, Dave Yu, detailed the new features. Out of the five, two are stable releases that users are already using.

Previously, users could skip 10 seconds of a video by double-clicking on the right or left side of the video. Now, double-clicking will play a video from the recommended section. YouTube's artificial intelligence (AI) will determine the recommended content based on user data. Additionally, users will now be able to watch YouTube Shorts videos in Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode.

On the other hand, experimental features will be accessible through the YouTube website. Among the new features is a smart download option, which allows users to watch YouTube Shorts offline. The platform is also bringing back its conversational AI feature.
