56 Lakh People Affected by Floods, 27 Dead: Disaster Advisor



On Tuesday (August 27) afternoon, at a press conference in the Secretariat regarding the ongoing flood situation, Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Advisor Faruk I Azam provided this information.

The relief advisor stated that the number of flood-affected districts remains at 11. In these 11 districts, the total number of affected individuals is 5,619,375. The number of waterlogged households is 1,207,429. A total of 74 sub-districts are inundated, and 541 unions/municipalities are affected.

So far, 27 people have died due to the floods, the disaster advisor reported. Among the deceased, 10 are from Comilla, 1 from Feni, 5 from Chattogram, 1 from Khagrachari, 5 from Noakhali, 1 from Brahmanbaria, 1 from Lakshmipur, and 3 from Cox’s Bazar.
