The exams, scheduled to start on August 11, are currently on hold. Police personnel have been attacked, and traffic police were not seen on the streets of Dhaka, causing severe traffic jams. To prevent further attacks on the police, the 'Anti-Discrimination Student Movement' has called on the protesters. In Satkhira, 14 people have been killed, including two BNP workers and five relatives of an Awami League leader. In this context, the student protesters in Bangladesh are demanding that Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus lead the interim government. The country's authorities have agreed to the students' demand. On Tuesday, Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the 'Anti-Discrimination Student Movement,' stated in a video message that they want to form an interim government with Yunus as the chief advisor. Nahid also mentioned that he has spoken with Yunus about this matter, and Yunus has reportedly agreed to take on the responsibility 'at the students' request and to save Bangladesh.' According to BBC, Yunus is currently in Paris, and Bangladeshi media outlet Prothom Alo has confirmed the same. Whether Yunus will return to Dhaka remains to be seen.
