India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commented that India will be concerned about the situation in Bangladesh as a neighboring country.
In his speech at the Red Fort in Delhi on Thursday (August 15) on the occasion of India’s Independence Day, Modi expressed hope that the situation in Bangladesh would soon return to normal.
He said, “We hope that minorities and Hindus will remain safe. We will be partners in Bangladesh's progress.”
Earlier, on August 8, Modi extended his congratulations to Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus for taking on the role of chief adviser to the interim government.
In his congratulatory message, Modi stated, “We hope that by ensuring the protection and security of the Hindu and other minority communities, the situation will return to normal quickly.”
He further stated that India is committed to working with Bangladesh to fulfill the common aspirations of the people of both countries for peace, security, and development.
