Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Others Spotted in Kolkata .

Former Home Minister of the Awami League government, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, along with several others, including Awami League central leader Asim Kumar Ukil, Apu Ukil, and one of Haji Selim's sons, have been spotted in Kolkata, India, following the fall of the Awami League government. They were seen in a park, with the sighting captured on video.

In a report by the private satellite channel TV 24, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and his associates were filmed sitting and conversing at Eco Park. However, upon noticing the presence of some fellow Bangladeshis, they quickly left the area. These individuals reportedly fled Bangladesh at various times following the government's collapse. On the evening of Saturday, September 28, around 7:30 PM, the former home minister was seen at Kolkata's Eco Park, engaged in conversation. Khan, who sported a white beard making him harder to recognize from afar, was identified as one of the most powerful ministers during the Awami League's rule. It was under his command, before August 5, that law enforcement allegedly cracked down on students and civilians.

Eco Park is a popular socializing spot for local residents of Kolkata in the evenings, with dining facilities available. Feeling secure, the former minister and his group seemed relaxed until a crowd of Bangladeshis began to gather, prompting them to leave. Some individuals attempted to prevent the filming, but Bangladeshis present at the scene confirmed the event to Channel 24.

Park officials commented, "Bangladeshis do visit Eco Park, though in smaller numbers nowadays."

Efforts to apprehend Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal have been ongoing since his departure from Bangladesh, though none have succeeded so far. While he remains at large, his son, Safi Modasser Khan Jyoti, has been arrested multiple times and remains in custody for questioning.
