Four Senior Police Officials Transferred, Including RAB DG and DMP Commissioner

 



Following the cancellation of the contractual appointment of Police Inspector General Chowdhury Abdul Alam Mamun, four more senior police officials have been transferred. Additional Inspector General (AIG) AKM Shahidur Rahman, currently attached to the police headquarters, has been transferred to become the Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).


Additionally, CID Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mohammad Mainul Hasan has been appointed as the acting Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). The current DG of RAB, Barrister Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid, has been moved to the police headquarters as Additional AIG. The DMP Commissioner and Additional AIG Habibur Rahman has been assigned to the police headquarters.


On Wednesday (August 7), a notification signed by Mohammad Mahabur Rahman Sheikh, Under-Secretary of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, announced their transfers. This order, issued in the public interest, will be effective immediately.


Previously, on Tuesday, the contract of Bangladesh Police Inspector General (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was terminated, and Additional IGP Mohammad Mainul Islam was appointed as the new IGP.
