An application has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and four others on charges of abduction. The application was submitted on Wednesday (August 14) to the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farzana Shakila Sumon Chowdhury. The case names former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former Law Minister Anisul Haq, former IGP Shahidul Haq, former RAB DG Benazir Ahmed, and 25 unidentified RAB members as defendants.
The court has instructed Kafrul Police Station to investigate the matter, considering the application as a formal complaint. The magistrate of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court issued this order based on an application filed by the victim's elder brother, Rajib. On Tuesday, the court also issued an order regarding an application to file a case against seven individuals, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader, on charges of murdering grocery store owner Abu Sayeed. The court's order directed that this application be accepted as a formal complaint.
