Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the interim government, has departed from New York, heading back to Dhaka. His journey follows his participation in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, along with a series of high-level bilateral meetings and events.
According to Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, Dr. Yunus and his delegation left New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at 9:30 PM (local time) on Friday, aboard a Qatar Airways commercial flight bound for Dhaka.
Alam emphasized that this visit marked the most successful engagement by a Bangladeshi leader at the UN General Assembly to date.
The flight is expected to arrive at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 2:15 AM Bangladesh time on Sunday, September 29.
During his stay in New York, Dr. Yunus met with U.S. President Joe Biden, alongside leaders from 12 other nations and heads of international organizations. He also took part in 40 high-level side meetings.
Dr. Yunus had arrived in New York on September 23 and maintained a packed agenda throughout his four-day visit.
