Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made two adjustments to the starting lineup for today’s Premier League match against Southampton.
After earning just three points from their first three games of the season, the Red Devils are already four points behind the top four and are desperate to get back on track.
As the team prepares for the early kick-off at St Mary’s, Ten Hag has made a couple of changes following the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Andre Onana, who has played every Premier League minute since his arrival last season, remains in goal.
The back four stays the same as in the derby loss, with Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot as the full-backs, and Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez in central defense.
Casemiro, who struggled against Liverpool and was at fault for two of the goals, has been dropped. In his place, Christian Eriksen gets a surprise start in midfield alongside Kobbie Mainoo, with Bruno Fernandes positioned as the number 10. Manuel Ugarte may make his debut off the bench.
Up front, there is one change from the last match. Marcus Rashford, who set up two significant chances for Joshua Zirkzee, keeps his spot on the left wing.
Zirkzee is chosen to lead the attack despite missing two excellent chances, while Amad Diallo starts on the right wing ahead of Alejandro Garnacho following a strong performance against Liverpool.
