AFCON Qualifier: Osimhen and Iwobi on the Bench as Super Eagles Aim to Continue Strong Start in Rwanda

Victor Osimhen will start from the bench in Tuesday’s African Cup of Nations qualifier between the Super Eagles and Rwanda in Kigali.

Manager Austin Eguavoen has made just one change to the lineup that secured a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic on Saturday, as the Eagles look to maintain their impressive form at the Amahoro Stadium.

Despite scoring Nigeria’s second goal just eight minutes after coming on in the win against Benin, Osimhen has not been chosen to lead the attack from the start. Instead, Victor Boniface will join Ademola Lookman, who scored twice against Benin, and Samuel Chukwueze in the front line.

In midfield, Tom Dele-Basiru has been selected in place of Alex Iwobi, who had a quieter performance in the previous match.

The game kicks off at 2 pm.

FULL LINEUP:  Stanley Nwabali, Troost Ekong, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Wilfred Ndidi, Tom Dele-Basiru, Bruno Onyemeachi, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and Victor Boniface.
