New York Magazine Silent on Olivia Nuzzi's Status as New Details Emerge About Alleged RFK Jr. Relationship.

New York magazine remains silent on the current status of star reporter Olivia Nuzzi, who is on leave following revelations of an alleged inappropriate relationship with former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. As further details of their alleged connection emerge, the controversy has drawn increased media attention.

Last month, it came to light that Nuzzi and Politico’s chief Washington correspondent, Ryan Lizza, had called off their engagement after Nuzzi was reportedly involved with Kennedy—whom she covered as part of her political reporting. Lizza has since taken a leave of absence from Politico after Nuzzi accused him of harassment and blackmail, claiming that he threatened to disclose personal information about her, which she says he later did. Lizza has denied these allegations, asserting in a court filing that Nuzzi had admitted to a romantic affair with Kennedy. He described the relationship as "toxic" and "unhealthy," citing Nuzzi’s own words, and claimed Kennedy sought to "possess" and "control" her.

Nuzzi, who was granted a temporary protection order, has not directly addressed Lizza's allegations, while her legal team has dismissed them as irrelevant. She was placed on leave by New York magazine after the revelation of her connection to Kennedy, which she did not disclose earlier. In a previous statement, Nuzzi acknowledged that her communications with Kennedy had turned "personal" but denied any physical relationship, expressing regret for not reporting the situation sooner.

The alleged "sexting" relationship between Nuzzi and Kennedy has fueled media speculation, with rumors circulating about Nuzzi sending intimate photos to the married candidate. Although Nuzzi initially denied the allegations when confronted by her editor, she later admitted to the inappropriate communication.

Kennedy’s representatives have denied any physical relationship, and Nuzzi maintains that while her actions were unprofessional, they never crossed into a physical affair. Meanwhile, Lizza has denied Nuzzi’s accusations of harassment and blackmail, characterizing them as attempts to shift focus away from her own conduct.

New York magazine has yet to comment on Nuzzi's future with the publication, though an internal review found no bias in her previous reporting on Kennedy. A third-party investigation is underway, but Nuzzi’s employment status remains uncertain.
