Bodies Found Following Devastating Flash Floods in Spain.

Bodies have been recovered after severe flash floods triggered by torrential rains hit south-eastern Spain, according to Valencia's regional leader, Carlos Mazon.

Mazon confirmed the fatalities, stating, "Dead bodies have been found, but out of respect for the families, we are not going to provide any further data."

Spain has faced days of relentless rain and hailstorms, resulting in flash floods across several regions. Social media footage reveals the scale of the devastation, with floodwaters sweeping away cars, destroying bridges, and disrupting communities.

Hundreds of calls for help have reportedly flooded local radio and television stations as people reach out for assistance, some trapped in flooded areas, others searching for missing loved ones. Emergency teams are actively working to reach isolated regions, using drones to search for those unaccounted for in the hardest-hit area of Letur, local official Milagros Tolon told Spanish public broadcaster TVE. "The priority is to find these people," she said.

In response to the crisis, Valencia city hall has closed all schools, suspended sports events, and shut parks on Wednesday.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez expressed his concern in a post on X, urging citizens to heed official guidance and avoid non-essential travel as the search and rescue efforts continue.
