Vice President Kamala Harris Arrives in Houston for Rally, Joined by Special Guest Beyoncé on Friday.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Vice President Kamala Harris touched down in Houston overnight in preparation for a Friday rally that’s set to feature superstar Beyoncé, a hometown favorite, along with country icon Willie Nelson.

Former President Donald Trump will also be in Texas on Friday, with planned stops in Austin.

Though Texas isn’t traditionally seen as a battleground state, the presence of both major candidates in the Lone Star State this close to Election Day is unusual. Typically, such last-minute campaign events are focused on swing states like Pennsylvania or Arizona.

Harris's campaign has yet to release public details on the exact time and location of the rally, though emails sent to ticket holders indicate it will take place at Houston Dynamo’s Shell Energy Stadium, with doors opening at 3 p.m.

Houstonians should anticipate road closures and increased security in the downtown area due to the event, as law enforcement will be on high alert.

Harris will be joined by Senate candidate Collin Allred, while in Austin, Trump is scheduled to appear alongside Allred's opponent, Senator Ted Cruz, and to sit for an interview on the popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience.

Texas has seen similar last-minute visits in previous elections; for instance, George W. Bush held a Dallas rally the night before the 2004 election, and Bill Clinton campaigned in Texas just six days ahead of the 1992 election.
