Chloe Fineman Opens Up About Her Emotional Encounter With Elon Musk on 'SNL'.

Chloe Fineman recently shared a tearful experience involving Elon Musk during his stint as host of Saturday Night Live in May 2021. The SNL comedian revealed in a now-deleted TikTok video that Musk’s behavior left her in tears, following his critical comments about the long-running sketch show.

Fineman, 36, responded to recent remarks by Musk, 53, who had called SNL a "dying" art form. "I just saw a news article about Elon Musk being upset about his impression on SNL," Fineman said. "But I’m like, 'You’re clearly watching the show, so what are you talking about?'"

In her video, Fineman disclosed that Musk was the anonymous celebrity host her co-star Bowen Yang had previously mentioned, accusing him of making multiple cast members cry because he "hated the ideas" pitched to him.

"I’m going to come out and say it — I’m the cast member he made cry," Fineman admitted. "Maybe there were others, but he definitely made me burst into tears. I stayed up all night writing a sketch I was so excited to show him."

The Tesla CEO’s reaction was far from what Fineman expected. "He stared at me like I was being fired from Tesla," she recalled. "He just said, ‘It’s not funny,’ without any hint of a joke. Then he started flipping through my script, saying, ‘I didn’t laugh once, not a single time.’"

Despite the harsh feedback, Fineman's sketch ultimately made it to air, and she even praised Musk’s performance as "funny" during the show. However, she later added, "Have a little manners, sir."

This incident resurfaced amid recent criticism by Musk directed at comedian Dana Carvey, following Carvey’s impression of him on a recent SNL episode. Musk took to his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), to slam Carvey's portrayal, accusing SNL of being "out of touch with reality" and lamenting the show's decline.

"SNL has been dying slowly for years," Musk wrote. "Their attempts to sway political opinions and prop up Kamala Harris have only made things worse," he added, referencing an SNL skit involving the Vice President that drew criticism from the FCC over potential violations of equal airtime rules.

Fineman’s emotional account adds another layer to the ongoing drama surrounding Musk’s contentious appearance on the iconic comedy show, highlighting the tension between the tech mogul and the SNL cast.
