Cardi B Sets the Record Straight on Payment Rumors from Kamala Harris Campaign.

Cardi B has responded to recent allegations suggesting she was paid to support Kamala Harris during her 2024 presidential campaign. Conservative commentator Candace Owens raised the question on X (formerly Twitter), speculating if the rapper received compensation for speaking at a Harris rally. Cardi B, known for her outspoken political views, firmly denied the claim, stating, "I didn’t get paid a dollar, and that’s on my three [children].” She further emphasized that she funded her own travel and glam expenses, adding, “You know damn well I’ll argue you down about politics FOR FREE.”

This clarification comes amid growing accusations that several celebrities were financially incentivized to support Harris as she sought to become the first female president of the United States. Despite a strong showing from Hollywood, with stars like Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande endorsing her, Harris ultimately lost to Donald Trump, who secured a second non-consecutive term.

Similarly, Oprah Winfrey faced rumors of being paid $1 million for hosting a town hall event with Kamala Harris, featuring notable appearances from Meryl Streep, Chris Rock, and Julia Roberts. Winfrey, however, swiftly denied these allegations, asserting that neither she nor her company, Harpo Productions, received any compensation.

The controversy didn't stop there. Megan Thee Stallion was also accused of receiving a substantial $5 million for participating in campaign activities. Reports suggested that the Harris campaign allocated millions for celebrity appearances and events in key swing states, including podcast features like her appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy. Both Cardi B and Winfrey’s denials highlight their commitment to supporting Harris without financial incentive, challenging the narrative of celebrities being paid for political endorsements.
